Under the Code on Social Security, 2020 s.53(2), any part of a year of service beyond six months counts as a full payable year; exactly six months does not.
Since 21 November 2025, gratuity is paid on “wages” as the Code on Social Security, 2020 defines them (s.2(88)): basic and DA, plus any amount by which the excluded parts of your pay, such as HRA and conveyance, exceed half of it. This uses basic + DA only, so treat it as the floor.
